Factory Days

We just got access to shoot in this old abandoned factory in town. I've put some of the images from the first three sessions we've done there. It is sooooo cool! I can't wait to photograph a girl there in a beautiful dress! We are probably going to be offering a Factory Friday session soon as an add on to the sessions offered for those who want the factory look. We'll get details out as soon as we've got them together!

Photoshop

I heard on the news this morning the incident with Airforce One. Apparently the president's plane flew very low over the New York city skyline followed by an F16 military plane. People were freaking out running out of buildings and calling 911. They thought it could possibly be another terrorist attack. It comes to light now that the president knew nothing about this and apparently it was a photo op because the government wanted new photos for the website of Airforce One by the Statue of Liberty. This came at a cost us taxpayers around $325,000. And I sat there watching this thinking, HELLO! PHOTOSHOP!!!!!
The government could hire me and I could put a photo of Airforce One flying by the Statue of Liberty! And I would do it for half the price! Apparently I don't charge near enough for my photoshop expertise!!!! I put together a simple idea for you. I literally spent five minutes on this. Looks pretty good, huh?

Facebooked!

Well, as of Saturday night, Susan Rowe disappeared off the Facebook earth! They disabled my account with no warning. I believe it's probably because I add so many friends. They thought I was spamming people. I pleaded with Facebook to reinstate me, but nothing from them! So I signed up for a new account on Facebook. We're now under RowePhotography GraftonOhio So if you're looking for us, start there. I'm trying to add all my new friends back. If you read this and I haven't found you yet, ask to be my friend! It will take a while to get back to my old status, but I'm trying! Watch out for those Facebook people, they're vicious! I'll keep you informed how the new account is going!

Local Imitation

Whoever said imitation is the most sincere form of flattery did not mean from photographers in their own area! The problem with being a the "bomb diggity", is that many photographers want to try to copy our work. By having a blog and Facebook site for our clients to view and enjoy our work, it also gives access to photographers in our area to look and copy.
We spend good money to educate ourselves by attending conventions and belonging to photography forums where ideas are generated. We know that they're isn't an original idea out there, but the ideas that we are inspired by come from magazines and photographers from other areas. It is annoying that we are trying to do cool and cutting edge senior photography, and a week later we see one of our new ideas tried to be copied by others in our own area. Its very frustrating, but should it seem flattering?

Katie

Katie's session was so awesome! Her photos are beautiful. I even made one my profile photo on the Rowe Photography business page on Facebook! The one with the flowers in the background! Mentor Blog

Well, it's official! I've been published! My color lab, Buckeye, asked me a few months ago to blog for a site they wanted to put togethers with several people in the photography industry. It is me and five well-known photographers talking about the state of the industry today and a myriad of other topics. I don't know what they were thinking asking me! I will blog once a week for six months. If you want, go check it out at www.thementorblog.net
Have a great day! Susan

Lucy Rini

Here is the video from Lucy's session. She's a 2010 Model Rep from Vermilion High School. She wore an awesome prom dress that she bought at a resale shop. The owner of the shop was so thrilled that she was using it for her senior portrait session that she lent her the pearls and accessories she wore with it. I loved the cowboy boots with the dress! Awesome session, Lucy! Love them! She's also a banner in our studio front window! Way to go!

Taylor's National Wrestling Tournament

Well, it's over, and he won his division! Here are a few of the photos from the tournament today. I got a shot of one of his pins and took a photo of him being awarded his trophy. We're back to Ohio in the morning. Have a happy Easter, everyone, and congratulations, Taylor!

Michigan Weekend

Becky and I are in Michigan t his weekend for Taylor's national finals wrestling tournament. It's being held int Battle Creek Michigan today. I'll post photos later. We made a stopover last night in Detroit, figured we could get some gambling in. Bad idea! We both got taken to the cleaners in Blackjack, then got to stay in this lovely hotel in downtown Detroit. It was a little scary! It was a loud night with tires squealing, people screaming and the steam radiator in the room whispering sweet nothings into my ear! It definetly wasn't ADA accessible. You actually had to step up to get into the bathroom! There wasn't one square thing in the room. The hotel came to a point like the Winking Lizard building in downtown Cleveland. Our room was at the very point of the building. It was hilarious! I'll never forget it! Becky slept on a rollaway, and it kept collapsing and swallowing her whole! It was an interesting night!

Gracie's First Communion

Walter did Gracie's first communion photos on Saturday. They are all so cute! She is such a ham! He had a hard time getting serious communion photos out of her, but that's Gracie! The first one is my favorite, but I love the one of her dress and her frilly flip flops. They are the ones she arrived in and had no intention of using them with her dress, but they are so cute! The one with the candles in the background is so funny of her. Typical Gracie!

Anna Rinaldi

Walter did Anna's session yesterday. She came to us from Buckeye High School. She did her senior portraits elsewhere earlier her senior year, but was unhappy with them, so she came to us! Her session is so cute. The prom dress ball gown she brought was out of this world! Beautiful! It was an awesome session! Look for her video coming soon with her entire session! Have a great weekend!
