New Phone

Okay, I have gone to the dark side! I got a new phone a couple of weeks ago, and it has a camera on it (which I swore I never wanted!) I started taking the first couple of photos, and I'm still trying to figure it out. Today was my birthday, and my friends and I went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland. The photo of Vivian (my friend's daughter) drinking out of a Budweiser can was actually an empty can. I think she thought it was an actual bottle for her! We had a great time. The other photo of Vivian was taken at the fair. Hopefully I will get better at the camera phone. Right now it is the only camera I have, as I can't find the battery charger for my real camera! Hope you all had a great weekend, too!

Water World

I had to chuckle today. Morgan came in for her session and asked about the portraits that have been taken in the water. She wanted to know if she would be allowed to go in the water, too.
We have wanted to do poses like that for a while now, but at the start of the season, Walter didn't think anyone would go for it. I told him all he could do was ask them to get in the water. The worst they could do was say no. Now that we have been doing it and showing it, people are coming in requesting that they get drenched! I guess it's like the saying....

Build it and they will come. Show it, and they will want to do it!

Back to School Special

Here is the next mailer that is going out soon. I just ordered it at the printer. It's the back and the front. You can click on the image if you want to view it larger. Everyone wants an after school appointment, and since we're here all day long, I figured someone that can come in during the school day should get a bonus! Another (new) piece of furniture

Well, here is the latest addition to the Rowe Photography family of props. I saw this couch on Sunday on the curb lawn across the street from my parents house in Elyria. I immediately thought how perfect it would be set out in a field for senior portraits!

I called Walter and told him to come to my parents house with his van to pick it up. When he saw it, he was hesitant, saying he didn't know if it would work or not. I told him he was crazy. It was perfect, rips and all!! ( I even added a few more rips while waiting for him to decide if he wanted to take it or not.) Well, needless to say, he used it for the first time, and came back to the studio saying he loved it! It's nice to know I can be right every now and then!! Chair near fatality!

Well, my last blog was all about how Walter got this Arhaus chair, and has used it a few times and loves it. Today he was using it and came in to the studio about an hour ago and said "Well, I hope you like the poses I took with that chair, because it's gone." I was so upset. That was an expensive chair, and we had only had it less than a week.

I decided to call the police. Walter said it was a waste of time, the chair was gone. I told the police I wanted to file a theft report for a piece of furniture. They said they would send an officer right down. A few moments later, they called back and asked if I was missing a chair. Then they asked if it was a mulit-colored chair! I said yes! They said an officer reported back that he had seen a couple of teenagers carrying a chair down the street a little earlier. They went in search of the chair, and low and behold they found it on someone's front porch! A couple of teenagers had carried it off because they thought it was trash!!!!! They made the teenagers carry it back to where they found it and come apologize.

I am so thankful to the police department of Grafton. I'm glad they were keeping a watchful eye around town! Thanks, guys!!!!

New Prop!

Rowe Photography's newest prop!

Walter saw this catalogue from Arhaus and fell in love with the chair. He was determined to get one, and drove to the east side of Cleveland to pick one up. He was so excited. Mary was our first senior to get to use it yesterday. I think it is really cute! I told him he couldn't use it hanging from a tree like the catalog shot! If he asks you to do a pose like that, tell him no! I know he is going to try to figure out a way to replicate that! Have a great day!

Busy!

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I actually enjoyed some time riding my motorcycle on Sunday, so if you slideshow isn't here yet, it's my fault! We're doing the best we can to keep up. Response has been great!
