Cassie's session was so much fun! We think she really had a great time. Walter got to experiment with his new vintage lights. They looks so cool! Cassie is our 2010 Model Rep from Wadworth High School. Great session, Cassie!

Mexico today
Well, mom and dad and I went over to Progresso, Mexico today, as we do every year. The picture of the large metal posts is the building of the controversial border fence between Mexico and the US. I am standing literally right on the border. The fence is 18 ft tall, made from steel pylons and cemented about four feet into the ground. They are going to leave gaps at certain intervals so that animals can pass through and they figure now it will be easier to catch people trying to cross because they will have to do it at certain spots only.
We thought this year when we got to Progresso we would do the touristy thing and have our picture taken at the border. A guy walking by offered to take a photo of the three of us and almost dropped my camera. When editing, I saw he took a picture of himself while trying to catch it. It was pretty funny! I took a photo of the main street in downtown Progresso. It's all stores on both sides for several blocks. It's a small town, but one of the few relatively safe ones to go over to shop. Lots of violence in the border towns. Most people don't even go over any more. Lots of military presence when you cross over. Tanks and guys carrying automatic weapons down the street! A bit scary! And I had to take a picture of the tortilla factory. It smells so good! I usually but a bundle. They are warm when they come off the conveyor belt. It's awesome!
Back to Ohio on Wednesday. I hear the weather is wonderful there! Can't wait! Talk to you all again soon!

Scary Day!
Well, yesterday was a roller coaster ride! My best friend's son who is 2 1/2 had a trip to the emergency room followed by transport to Cleveland Clinic in the middle of the night. They found a mass that they weren't sure what it was. Without going into a lot of detail, it wasn't cancerous, but he had to have emergency surgery yesterday. It just goes to show you how life can change in an instant! Treasure the little ones! Just my thought for the day.

What a Difference a Day Makes!
Well, I got my haircut yesterday and absolutely loved it. When my hairdresser finished, I said I loved it, but it would never look that way again! I can never do my hair the same way that she does! I know that's because she's the professional. I have the before photo in the black shirt from yesterday, and the after photo from today in the brown sweater when I did my hair myself. Walter has the best idea as far as hairdos, since he doesn't have to worry about these things!
I said to Walter this morning, that me doing my hair the same way as my hairdresser was like comparing our photography to a digimoms. I can't do what my professional hairdresser does for me, just like a digimom can't do the kind of photography we do. If I had the money, I would absolutely have her come and do my hair everyday! It would be worth the money because it makes me feel so good. Just like our photography is worth it to our clients because of how it makes them feel. Could I get a cheaper haircut? Absolutely? Would I love it as much? Probably not!

St. Patrick's Day - Cleveland
Well, I went downtown yesterday for St. Patrick's day, and what a zoo it was! The mass of people that came out of the woodwork to dress in green and drink was amazing! It was an absolute sea of green! They expected 400,000 people, but I bet there were more. It was my best friend, Becky's, 40th birthday on St. Pats, and boy did we have fun! It seemed like the true Irish were on the street watching the parade, and the people pretending to be Irish were in the bars! It was a beautiful day, which I'm sure contributed to the crowd. No St. Patrick's day is complete until you've heard the sound of bagpipes! They are so awesome!
It did seem like a contrasting group of people downtown to celebrate. You had the freckled, fair-haired people with their families pulling wagons down the street. Then you had 21 year old girls wearing tank tops and short shorts with green wigs drunk out of their minds at two in the afternoon! Everyone seemed to get along fairly well. I only saw a few minor altercations!
The sights, sounds, and smells of downtown Cleveland definetly change on St. Patrick's Day!
It's nice to see regardless of what people say about our economy, people in masses were willing to go downtown and spend some cash. I'm sure it was a huge economic boost to downtown Cleveland. (And it will keep the city's streetcleaners busy for the next week!) No matter how tough times seem to get, people seem to be willing to spend their money to forget their cares and have a good time. I know we did!
I would definetly go downtown again, although the older I get, the more out of place I seem. Especially since I'm not a drinker. It is interesting being the only sober one in the room! Maybe we'll do it again next year! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Becky's Surprise 40th Birthday Party!
Well, mission accomplished! We threw my best friend, Becky, a surprise birthday party on Saturday night. It was at Aces in North Ridgeville. She was shocked! There were about 60 people in attendance, and a good time was had by all. There was a good band for some dancing, even though the dance floor was packed! The first photo is of me, Becky and Vern, my other best friend! The cake was made by About the Cake. It was shaped as a pink Blackberry, with facebook on the screen, as that's where Becky lives! On her Blackberry looking at facebook! I actually ended up designing the facebook layout, and I totally created it in Photoshop. It took me about four hours to complete, but it turned out really great! Even Becky from About the Cake was impressed with how well the screen turned out. She printed out the layout on edible paper and inserted it into the cake.
The other close up photo is of me with my sister-in-law Laurie and my niece Devan. She really enjoyed spending her evening with the grown ups, and she was the designated driver! It was great to see people we don't get to see all the time, even though you don't have time to visit with everyone.
I have lots more photos posted on my facebook page, so go check them out!

Here are a few images from Sarah's model rep session. She just finished it today. Walter wanted her to come back to try out a few new ideas. Love the umbrella and boots outside. It was a rainy day when she was here for her session. She went out and bought them especially for her portraits! Too cute. Walter also did a special pose of her shoes that you'll see with her video! Can't wait to show you!
