I went to Niagara Falls earlier this week with my parents. We were met there by a couple they are friends with that live in Canada, Bernie and Myrna. My friend Becky and her mom Marilyn went, too. Becky and her mom were at the blackjack table while we went to the falls. We had our photo taken there, but I really wanted a photo of all seven of us together.
Once we all were together right before Bernie and Myrna left for home, we got together and pulled a stranger off the street to take a photo of all us of together. The beauty of digital photography is that you get to see the results instantly. He took the first photo with my camera and went to use a second one. I checked my camera and there was nothing there. He took the photo with the second camera and I handed him my camera and asked him to take another one. I figured he hadn't pushed the button hard enough. He took the photo again, and I gave him $5 as a tip, since the guy we happened to pick was the valet guy. I felt bad we had kept him there that long. As he disappeared, I checked my camera again and there was still no photo there! Bernie checked the second camera, and there was nothing on his, either!!!! I was not a happy camper!
Moral of the story: You get what you pay for! This was a moment I wanted to capture. We asked an amateur and we got ripped off! There are definitely times you should only trust a professional to capture the important times in life!
